Old boys of Aligarh Muslim University, a large number of educationists and teachers from Rajasthan gathered at Hotel Arch Inn, MI Road to remember the services of Sir Syed Ahmad khan, which is remembered today in the form of Aligarh Muslim University.
Mr. Ashfaq Khan Sahab, retired IAS, chief Guest, Mr. Manzoor Ali, Professor Firoz Akhtar Saheb, Joint Secretary Higher Education, Government of RajasthanD, Dr Naeem Falahi Saheb, Joint Director Higher Education, Government of Rajasthan, Dr. Shaukat Ali Saheb, OSD AYUSH, Government of Rajasthan and Joint Secretary AMU OBA Rajasthan, Dr. Akbar Choudhary, National Convenor, Snjhi Virasat Manch, Dr. Nasir Khan, Senior Vice President Organization, as guest of honour and Chairman of the Ceremony, Dr. Azam Baig Sahab, former President AMUSU and General Secretary AMUOBA Rajasthan were present.
On this occasion, Senior Associate Prof. Dr. Ghaus Alam Saheb, Department of Surgery, Prof. Dr. Fauzia Arif, Department of Pediatrics, Professor Dr. Naushi Mujeeb, Department of Surgery shed light on the life and service of Sir Syed Ahmed Khan.
Dr. Shaukat Ali Sr. Alig in his address described Sir Syed's life as an educational mission and said that it is our responsibility to enhance the mission and take it forward. Prof. Serajul Haq Alig said that Dr. Azam Baig has kept this mission of Sir Syed alive in Rajasthan and under the same mission, he has opened educational institutions in every city and village to spread the light of knowledge throughout Rajasthan and created an educated society that are playing an important role in building of the nation
Dr. Nisar Ahmed Khan Alig told on the 30th anniversary of AMUOBA that Dr. Azam Beg, Chaudhary Tayyab, Chaudhary Abdur Rehman, Prof. Jafri, Shri FK Sherwani, has been serving as the General Secretary of the organization for the last 30 years under the leadership of retired IPS Shri Tariq Alam.
Professor Firoz Akhtar, Joint Secretary, in his address, emphasized on how the government runs vigilance and awareness programs for education on community so that the coming generation in Rajasthan is well educated.
Professor Naeem conducted door-to-door educational awareness program in Rajasthan and stressed on the importance of education for a good nation, social worker Office Manzoor Ali in his address called for putting oneself in view of the needs of the times and strengthening the secular forces.
Dr. Azam Baig, while presiding over today's program, discussed in detail the current conditions in Aligarh Muslim University and sought cooperation from the Central Government to support the University in every situation under the “Save University Campaign” and to bring the situation of the University to normal. Appealing to Aligarh, he said that this year the birth anniversary of Sir Syed Ahmed has been celebrated all over the world under the Save AMU campaign. He said that it is very sad that the present administration of AMU is not focused on rules, regulations and destroying the soul of Aligarh. The sword is hanging on its minority character, the fight to save it is crucial and now an attempt was made to wake up the government by staging a dharna at Jantar Mantar.
Akbar Qasmi Saheb said that it is the responsibility of the entire community to save AMU, Joint Action Committee should come forward, we all are with it.
Chief guest Mr. Ashfaq Saheb said that not even a single Muslim minority in the entire country has such an institute in which people of all religions and all castes can get education like it is in AMU.
So the need is that we open hotels, open gyms, open shops, I wish you people open educational institutions.
Dr. Mohammad Akmal Associate Professor moderated the forum.Mr Shakeel Jaipuri honored Sir Syed with some of his poetic words. Dr. M. Nasir heartily thanked the guests and all the participants and organizers for coming to mark the occasion of the programme. Prof. Serajul Haq, in view of the problems faced by Mr. Tariq Alam Saheb, retired IPS, Chairman AMU OBA couldn’t attend due to his illness, proposed to make Dr. Azam Baig Sahab the President of AMU OBA, which was accepted by Dr. Nisar Ahmed Khan and Dr. Fauzia Arif supported, all the other fraternity participating in the program unanimously passed this proposal with a raised hand.
And with this, Dr. Nisar Ahmed Khan proposed Dr. Shaukat Ali as General Secretary of AMU OBA, which was supported by Professor Dr. Ghaus Alam and Dr. Naeem Saheb and everyone passed it unanimously by raising hands. Dr. Azam Baig Saheb presented the name of Professor Sirajul Haq for Treasurer, all the colleagues passed it unanimously.
In this way, a new team of AMU OBA was prepared which will continue to carry forward Sir Syed's mission.
At the end of the program, the entire team, Dr. Farhat Choudhary, Dr. Maqbool Ahmed Sahab, especially Dr. Firoz Khan, Dr. Mohammad Yasar Siddiqui, Dr. Nisar Ahmed Malik, Dr. Mohammad Roshan, Dr. Danish, Dr. Mahtab, Dr. Aftab are thanked immensely for organizing the celebration of Sir Syed Day.
